Bayern Munich have confirmed that defender Alphonso Davies suffered a muscle injury during the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semifinal against Paris Saint-Germain.
The match ended 1 1 in Munich, but Bayern were eliminated after losing the first leg 5 4 in Paris, allowing PSG to advance to the final against Arsenal.
In an official statement, Bayern said Davies sustained a muscle injury in the back of his left thigh and will be sidelined for several weeks. The club did not provide a specific recovery timeline.
The Canadian international has made 23 appearances this season, scoring once and providing five assists across all competitions.
Despite their European disappointment, Bayern have already secured the Bundesliga title this season, adding a 35th league championship to their trophy collection.
The team is now preparing for their upcoming league fixture against VfL Wolfsburg as they close out their domestic campaign.
