The name of "Bassant," also known as the "Meit Ghamr" girl, has been trending trending on Twitter and Instagram over the past days.

Bassant is a young Egyptian girl. She faced a tragic gang sexual assault accident in the street in her city, and she managed to file a police report of her accident to the concerned authorities.

Therefore, a number of involved persons were asked for investigations. According to her, the accused belong to businessmen's families' members which's why she faces a lot of threats and stress to drop her case.

During a phone interview with the Egyptian TV presenter Lamees El Hadidi, Bassant revealed the tragic threats she received including involving her in certain crimes, defaming her, leaking her privacy, harming her family members, and throwing acid on her face.

She asked the police and society to guarantee her safety to continue resisting.

On the other side, the lawyer of the accused men indicated that Bassant asked them to take a sum of money to drop the case. Also, he filed a police report accusing her of breaking the norms of Egyptian society through her improper clothes.
