Jules Kounde is one of Barcelona's targets for next season, as the Catalan club want to reinforce the centre of defence.

They already have Andreas Christensen, whose signing will be announced in the next few weeks, but they want another centre-back because they're working on the departures of Clement Lenglet and Samuel Umtiti.

Gerard Pique's future is also uncertain and he might not be a starter next season, hence the pursuit of Kounde.

Sevilla want 60 million euros for Kounde

Signing Kounde is going to be very difficult for Barcelona as Sevilla are asking for 60m euros.

The Andalusian club have asked for 60m euros because they are aware that Premier League teams interested in Kounde and that they could put a lot of money on the table.

In addition, they want to close the deal quickly. That is one of the big problems that Barcelona are facing at the moment, as time is against them.

Barcelona are unwilling to pay the 60m euros amount, even if they have recently secured fresh funds.

Even if the 600m euros that the club has sourced were to come in, not all of it would be for transfers.

It is necessary to balance this year's budget, which now stands at -160m euros, and to use part of the income to reduce debt, which stands at around 1.350 billion euros.
