FC Barcelona will host arch-rivals Real Madrid at the Camp Nou on Sunday night in a decisive La Liga encounter that could crown Barcelona champions for a second consecutive season.

The match, part of Round 35 of the 2025–2026 La Liga season, carries enormous weight as Barcelona sit firmly at the top of the table with 88 points, holding an 11-point advantage over second-placed Real Madrid, who have 77 points.

A victory for Barcelona would mathematically secure the league title with three matches remaining, while even a draw would leave Madrid’s chances of a comeback extremely slim.

he possibility of sealing the championship against their biggest rivals adds historic significance to the fixture.

Under head coach Hansi Flick, Barcelona have been dominant at home this season, winning all 17 league matches at Camp Nou, scoring 52 goals and conceding only nine. Their high-pressing system and aggressive attacking style have turned their home ground into a fortress.

Despite a major setback with the injury absence of young star Lamine Yamal, Barcelona still boast a strong attacking unit led by Robert Lewandowski, alongside Ferran Torres and Marcus Rashford, all capable of influencing the outcome of the match.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, arrive under pressure following their exit from the UEFA Champions League against Bayern Munich and a series of injury concerns in defense. The availability of star forward Kylian Mbappe remains uncertain due to a muscle issue, adding further challenges for the visitors.

With both pride and the La Liga title on the line, El Clasico is set to deliver one of the most dramatic and decisive encounters of the season.
