Barcelona are set to make their long-awaited comeback to Camp Nou following two years of extensive renovations.
The club wait for final approval to host their La Liga clash against Valencia on September 14 at the revamped stadium.
According to Sport, the only remaining step is securing the final works certificate (CFO), which would allow ticket sales to begin.
The club remains confident of receiving the green light before next Wednesday.
In case of the presence of any delays, the return will be postponed to September 21 against Getafe.
The first stage of the opening will welcome 27,000 fans in the main stand and southern end, before expanding to 45,000 seats by late October once the side stands are complete.
The northern stand will then follow, bringing capacity to 60,000 by the end of November.
Stage two will see the addition of the third tier, VIP areas, and a brand-new roof, ultimately raising capacity to 105,000, restoring Camp Nou’s status as Europe’s largest stadium.
After two seasons at Montjuïc, Barça fans are eager to return home.
Club president Joan Laporta and the board have closely overseen the redevelopment, carried out by Limak Construction.
If all goes as planned, the Valencia match on September 14 will mark a historic reopening of the iconic Camp Nou.
