Barcelona and Real Madrid have refused to switch their match venue of "El Clasico" from Camp Nou into Santiago Bernabeu.
Laliga requested the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to change the venue of the encounter, which is set to take place on Saturday, October 28, due to Protests in Barcelona.
"Barcelona are scheduled to host Real Madrid on Saturday, October 26 in the first Clasico of the season, however, LaLiga has now made a request to the RFEF to switch the location of the match to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu," Marca reported.
On its part, Barcelona said that they insist on holding the game at the Camp Nou.
On the other hand, Real Madrid also denied switching the game into the Bernabeu, insisting on holding the game at the Camp Nou, as it was declared before.
"Protests have exploded in Barcelona since the judgment to jail several political prisoners. Regarding the issue of Catalan independence, there are now fears that it would be unsafe to hold the Clasico at the Camp Nou," Marca newspaper reported.
Real Madrid now attains the leadership with 18 points, winning five games and drawing in the other three, while Barca came in the second spot with 16 points, winning five clashes, losing two and drawing in one.
