Barcelona are reportedly working on a move to sign Al-Ahly forward Hamza Abdelkarim.
According to sports reports, the Catalan club has submitted an initial proposal to take the 17-year-old Egyptian on loan with an option to buy, but the offer has been rejected by the Cairo-based club.
Al-Ahly’s management is said to be holding out for a fee exceeding €5 million for the highly rated youngster.
Abdelkarim has already made three appearances for Al-Ahly’s first team, highlighting his rapid progression.
At international level, he has been a key figure for Egypt’s Under-17 national team, registering 12 goals and six assists in 19 matches.
Despite his growing reputation, Transfermarkt currently values the forward at €100,000.
Negotiations between the two clubs are expected to continue as Barcelona monitor the player’s development.
