Spanish giants FC Barcelona have announced a new legal move against rivals Real Madrid CF and club president Florentino Pérez over comments the Catalan club claims were damaging to its reputation and based on inaccurate information.
The action follows earlier remarks by Barcelona vice-president Rafa Yuste, who revealed that the club was considering legal measures in response to Pérez's statements regarding the José Negreira case, a controversy that has generated significant debate within Spanish football.
In an official statement, Barcelona confirmed that it has filed a mandatory conciliation claim, a legal procedure required under Spanish law before pursuing a criminal defamation complaint.
