Barcelona Burns, Catalans Take to Streets to Protest against Spain Today

Catalans took to the streets this afternoon for the fourth day in a row.

They protested against verdicts handed over by Spanish judges against leaders of the separatists who call for leaving the federal ties with Madrid.

Majority of parts of Catalonia province go to a general strike on Friday.

The Spanish judges handed over harsh sentences range from 9-13 years behind bar to leaders of the separatist movement.

Those leaders urged their people to support breaking the ties with the center of the Spanish state.

The Catalans say that their land is the richest in Spain so they want to keep fruits of prosperity to their population.

Friday is day appointed to mount the widest strike in Catalonia.

Protestors name their demonstrations as  marches of freedom.

Activists across Catalonia to take part in protests.

They consider demonstrations as evidence to their national identity.

Hundreds of youths chanted slogans support the independence of Spain.

They installed inflamed barriers to close the streets against the police of riot and threw Molotov cocktail at the cops.

Police personnel fired rubber bullets at the protesters.

It is worth to mention that some 38 thousands of Catalans flocked to the streets to support the independence.

They responded positively to calls of the radical activists.

Population of Catalonia feels disappointment after two years of their attempt to get the independence.

The recent wave of violence reflect the growing anger of the Catalans.

Fernando Grandi Marca, Spain’s Minister of Interior has announced that 97 Catalans were detained and 194 cops were injured in clashes with protesters since the protests broke out on Monday.
