Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has been crowned the winner of the Lev Yashin Trophy for Best Goalkeeper in the World at the 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony, currently taking place in Paris and presented by France Football.
Donnarumma, who recently completed a move to Manchester City from Paris Saint-Germain, earned the award after playing a key role in PSG’s historic 2024–25 season, during which the French side captured five major titles: Ligue 1, Coupe de France, French Super Cup, UEFA Champions League, and UEFA Super Cup.
The 2024 Yashin Trophy was won by Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez of Aston Villa, following his outstanding performances that helped Argentina win the 2024 Copa América, alongside his consistent displays in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, PSG head coach Luis Enrique, who guided the club to Champions League glory, was named the winner of the Johan Cruyff Award for Best Coach in the World during the same ceremony.
