Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense and the State Border Service said in a joint statement, on Tuesday, that Azerbaijan can destroy any military targets that threaten its territory, regardless of its location.

The joint statement stated, "Azerbaijan, which adheres to the new humanitarian ceasefire agreement, has a conservative attitude towards enemy provocations along the frontline and takes only appropriate and adequate procedures. Armenia is exacerbating the situation in various directions of the front, especially in the restored parts of the state borders,"

"Any provocation in this direction is considered an act of aggression against our territorial unity. Keeping this in mind, Azerbaijan has the right to destroy any military facilities or installations that threaten its territory, regardless of its location," the statement added.

The military clashes between Armenia and Azerbaijan re-broke in September 27, and the Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev, imposed the state of war status in a number of cities and regions of the republic, along with curfew and partial mobilization.

Prior to that, the Armenian Cabinet declared state of war status and general mobilization in the country due to the events in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Azerbaijan and Armenia announced that they had reached an agreement on a humanitarian truce on October 18, but the two parties exchanged accusations of violating it.
