The American website Axios quoted four American sources as saying that the White House is discussing with Iran the possibility of holding a meeting this week between Steve Witkoff, the US President's special envoy to the Middle East, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
The same website explained that the aim of the meeting between Witkoff and Araghchi is to discuss an initiative to reach a nuclear agreement and end the war between Israel and Iran.
