One of them was Awad Gasser. Born in 1924 in Upper Egypt, he was taught the secrets of the profession by his Sudanese ancestors.

Then,he worked with his brother in the same store in Shaikh Rihan St. before establishing his own business in 1958 in Abdeen district.

He also specialized in designing Nubian-influenced accessories.

His son Ahmed who was born in 1964 continued his father’s career. The son carried the same appreciation towards Nubian heritage and influences.

He also aimed to keep the soul of the Nubian culture alive without any additions, asserting that audience should accept and understand the Nubian-alive design.

Moreover, the son believed in the richness of the Nubian heritage influenced designs and their ability to be suitable for women in various periods.
