Automotive Sales Reaches 4B EGP During Last 9 Months in Egypt

CAIRO, Nov. 1 (SEE) - Automotive sales in Egypt reached 34B EGP during the first nine months of the current year, according to the statistics published by the Automotive Marketing Information Council (AMIC).

The sales of the cars with engine capacity less than 1000 CC reached 578,8 M EGP; between 1000 and 1300 CC reached 212M EGP; between 1300 and 1500 CC reached around 3,2B; between 1500 and 1600 CC reached around 15,8B EGP; between 1600 and 2000 CC, 29,4 M EGP; and less than 2000 CC, around 17,8 M EGP.

Concerning sports cars for multi-usage "SUV" with engine capacity less than 2000 CC, its sales amounted to around 10B EGP. Sales of passenger cars "SUV" with more than 2000 CC recorded almost 3,9 B EGP.

According to AMIC, passenger cars priced between 200,000 and 300,000 EGP marked the highest sales' percentage that reached 35,3%, representing 33,7 thousand units.

Cars whose price is amounted to more than 400,000 EGP came in the second place as its sales' percentage marked 30,2%, representing 28,8 thousand units.

In the third place came cars priced between 300,000 and 400,000 thousand EGP, its sales percentage was estimated by 21,8%, and units sold from this category reached 20,8 thousand units.

The fourth place was acquired by the cars priced from 150,000 to 200,000 EGP whose sales' percentage was 12,2% and units sold from this category were 11,6 thousand ones. The share of the cars whose price reached 150,000 EGP represented around 0,4% and 390 units.
