On Saturday, Siegfried Beer, an Austrian expert in espionage,  revealed that about 7,000 spies are working in Austrian territory at present.

This European country became an ideal place for spies and espionage activities due to the freedom of movement and advanced financial systems, according to Beer

Worthnoting that Beer is the founder of the Intelligence and Security Studies Center in Austria.

"A senior intelligence official told me that Vienna is the best place for spies to conduct their activities," Beer said.

Russia alone employed about 100 spies in Vienna, while some countries hide their spies in diplomatic missions, but the Constitution Protection Authority knows who the spy is and who is the diplomat, according to Beer.

Beer also added that Turkish President Recep Tayyib "Erdogan has many loyal elements here, but their capabilities are weak, and therefore these activities will end someday."

He continued: "The cases of Turkish espionage that have been detected recently show that there is something that must be fixed in the work of the Austrian intelligence services."

Austrian-Turkish relations are experiencing great tension after the discovery of a Turkish spy cell last September.

Relations between Ankara and Vienna were further complicated with the admission of a Turkish intelligence agent a few days ago that he was assigned by the regime of Erdogan to carry out political assassinations in this country, which included politicians such as Privan Aslan, who is known for her widespread criticism of the president.
