The charity aims to help injured or sick horses, donkeys and mules using the motto “Lest we forget”.

The team members who started this initiative include, Angela Williams, Jeff Robson, Jill and Warren Barton.

These horses are believed to be Australian war horses which are left by Britain at the end of World War l.

Egyptians used them as work animals to pull carts and help in agricultural work.

They usually suffer from colic, tetanus, heat stroke, dehydration and local diseases. Their owners had faced difficulties due to the lack of veterinary help in such places like ”Abu Seir”.

The former pathology nurse Jill Baron told 10 Daily new website, "When we saw the state of the horses and the lack of help for them, we just felt we had to come back and do something."

Locals could not believe that the charity offer help for free, Baron explained.

The charity offers internship for fresh graduates to help them to practice what they have studied in vet schools.

"Most of them don't even know how to hear for a heartbeat, they've only learnt theory and nothing practical," Jill said.
