The Australian government intends to ban the use of the Chinese social networking application "Tik Tok" on all government agencies.

The Australian TV channel “ABC” quoted a statement from the Attorney General, Mark Dreyfus, that “after receiving advice from the intelligence and security services, he authorized the Secretary of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, today, to issue a binding order under the Defense and Security Policy System regarding the ban on the “Tik Tok” application. "On Organs Given by Commonwealth Ministries and Agencies".

The Australian channel indicated that the ban will enter into force directly when this becomes practically possible.

On March 7, the White House National Security Adviser, Jake Sullivan, called on Congress to expedite the passage of a bill that would allow the government to ban the TikTok application and take action against similar applications from “unfriendly” countries to the United States.

The US Senate had previously approved a bill banning the installation of TikTok on electronic devices of the federal government, and that decision angered users of the social network in the United States, and they considered it unreasonable and politically motivated.

The Canadian government and the European Commission also issued similar decisions, according to which they prohibited downloading the application on any of its phones and electronic devices.
