US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin stressed on Monday, that the Russian-Ukrainian crisis is posing a threat to European security.

"With our partners, we are committed to providing quality weapons to Ukraine, and we are working together to make sure that everything Ukraine needs militarily is provided," Austin said, in a speech during a meeting of the Ukrainian Defense Contact Group, via video conference.

"We are in constant contact with the leaders of Ukraine, our efforts together make a tangible difference on the battlefield, and we aspire to help Ukraine, which scored a historic victory in the Battle of Kyiv," he added.

Earlier, Austin said that Ukraine is responding to unprovoked Russian aggression and atrocities, noting that the US is continuing to help it defend itself.

In word before an international meeting to support Ukraine militarily, the US Secretary of Defense added that the Ukrainian forces are doing great defensive work.

Moreover, he praised the “fantastic” work done by the Ukrainian forces to counter the Russian military operation, which he described as “unjustified.”

At the US Ramstein base in Germany, Austin said that the Russian military operation has entered its 62nd day, while the Ukrainian forces continue to confront valiantly, which is a source of inspiration for the free world and will be recorded in military history.
