US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin confirmed that NATO will not get involved in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, but will strengthen defense and its deterrence capacity and will defend every inch of its territory.
Austin's remarks came during apress conference, held at NATO headquarters in Brussels today, Friday, in the presence of the defense ministers of the member states of the alliance.
Moreover, US Secretary of Defense said that NATO faces historical challenges, but meets them with confidence and unity, indicating that the alliance is deepening its cooperation with partners in the Indo-Pacific region, especially with regard to Protecting critical infrastructure and cyberspace.
Furthermore, he added that NATO's work with partners in the Indo-Pacific region is vital to protecting the rules, rights and norms that make everyone safer.
He also pointed out that NATO continues to move forward to implement the nuclear deterrence, expressing his pride in all the progress that the alliance has made since its officials last met.
