The The American University in Cairo is set to launch the third edition of its annual Tahrir CultureFest on April 2, 2026, at its historic downtown campus in Cairo, bringing together culture, technology and creativity in a three-day public event.

Running until April 4, the festival invites visitors to explore Cairo’s future through the lens of artificial intelligence, innovation, business and the arts. The program blends discussions, exhibitions and performances to examine how tradition and technology are shaping the next chapter of the city.

The opening day will feature the launch of four exhibitions exploring identity, urban transformation and AI, alongside a projection light show titled “Whispers of the Walls,” which will transform the historic campus into a visual narrative of Cairo’s evolving identity. The evening will conclude with a live concert organized by AUC’s Student Union.

Throughout the festival, attendees will be able to take part in panel discussions, workshops and a TEDx program under the theme “Human Forward,” focusing on the growing influence of artificial intelligence across media, education and the economy.

Among the key sessions is a panel on how AI is reshaping journalism and storytelling, as well as discussions on the future of higher education and the economic implications of emerging technologies in Egypt and the wider region.

The festival will also host a special talk on the use of medical imaging technologies in Egyptology, highlighting how digital tools are helping reconstruct the faces of ancient Egyptian figures.

Interactive experiences will play a central role, including workshops exploring future scenarios for Cairo, robotics and AI activities, and creative performances that merge music, art and technology.

Visitors can also enjoy a wide range of entertainment, including live concerts, cultural performances, a book fair, a local crafts bazaar and an international food fair, along with dedicated programs for children.

Since its launch in 2024, the AUC Tahrir CultureFest has grown into a major cultural platform in Cairo, attracting thousands of visitors and bringing together artists, academics and innovators to celebrate the city’s identity and future.

The festival is open to the public, with entry through Sheikh Rihan Street at AUC Tahrir Square.
