On Monday, the deadline day of the transfer market, Atlético Madrid have officially secured Argentine forward Nicolás González on loan from Juventus until the end of the 2025/26 season.
The Spanish club confirmed on Monday that González successfully completed his medical before signing the contract at the Civitas Metropolitano offices.
The 27-year-old has built an impressive career across Europe. He began at Argentinos Juniors before moving to Stuttgart in 2018, then joined Fiorentina in 2021, where he made 125 appearances and scored 38 goals. In 2024, he switched to Juventus, featuring in 40 matches during the 2024–25 campaign.
On the international stage, González has represented Argentina 41 times, scoring six goals. He was part of the squad that won the Copa América in 2021 and 2024, and played a role in Argentina’s run to the 2022 World Cup final.
Following his signing with Atlético, González is set to immediately link up with the Argentina national team camp.
