Atlético Madrid Confirm Nico Williams Injury

On Friday, La Liga side Atlético Madrid confirmed the injury of their Spanish star Nico Williams.

Williams will be out of action for their upcoming La Liga clash against Celta Vigo on Sunday.

The Basque side had a vital 2-0 victory to set a new record at Leganes of the successive away victories.

But this triumph terribly impacted as Williams was forced to be pulled out the game at half time with an injury.

The club ead coach Ernesto Valverde commented on Williams' injury, saying: “He has a sprained ankle. We’ll see if he can recover for Sunday, which will be difficult, and we’ll see if he’s ready for next week."

Valverde may consider a reshuffle for their upcoming UEFA Champions League fixture  against AS Roma. 

Atlético Madrid have five games before the October international break with three La Liga clashes action and two European fixtures.
