Atalanta have officially sacked head coach Ivan Jurić following a disappointing run of results, culminating in a 3-0 loss to newly-promoted Sassuolo in Serie A’s 11th round of the 2025-26 season.

"Atalanta Football Club announce the dismissal of Ivan Jurić from his position as first-team coach, along with his staff Matteo Barro, Miguel Veloso, Pablo Barbiero, Stjepan Ostojic, and Michele Oricchio. We thank them all for their contributions and wish them the best in their future endeavors."

Jurić, who took over in the summer after Gian Piero Gasperini, leaves the club in 13th place, with just two wins from 11 matches.

The team earned only six points in the last eight games, following a series of six draws and two consecutive defeats.

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla reported that Jurić was informed that the matches against Marseille in the Champions League and Sassuolo in Serie A would be decisive for his future.

Despite a win over Marseille, a heated incident with Ademola Lookman on the sidelines drew significant attention. The subsequent defeat to Sassuolo ended any remaining confidence in his leadership.

Coincidentally, Jurić was dismissed from Roma on the same date last year, December 10, 2024.

Reports suggest that Raffaele Palladino, former manager of Monza and Fiorentina, is the frontrunner to replace Jurić as Atalanta’s head coach.
