Myanmar forces opened fire at the demonstrators today, Wednesday, killing at least 5 people and wounding others, after the demonstrators defied the bloody crackdown and cutting internet service by the ruling military council.

According to "Reuters", Myanmar forces have killed more than 580 protesters since the Myanmar coup last February, as nationwide protests and strikes have continued since then despite the ruling army's use of lethal force.

Protesters are taking to the streets across Myanmar, defying the military group that is seeking to crush the uprising with a campaign of violence.

The country has been witnessing a wave of unrest since the military ousted the government of civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi from power through a February 1 coup, sparking a nationwide uprising in which protesters called for the restoration of democracy.
