At Least 30 Killed in Somalia Truck Bombing

At least 30 people were killed and dozens injured on Saturday due to a truck explosion at a checkpoint in the city of Beledweyne in Somalia.

According to GAROWE ONLINE, citing the Somali Ministry of Defense, the explosion resulted in the deaths of over 30 militants, including senior leaders killed in an army attack targeting Al-Shabaab gathering points in the Shabeellaha Hoose region.

"Around 30 people were killed, and dozens were injured in a suicide truck bombing at the Horusd checkpoint in Beledweyne city, marking the deadliest terrorist attack in Somalia since last year," The statement said.

A video clip circulated on social media platforms showed significant damage to buildings in the explosion area.
