Assala Uses Sign Language in Music Video, "Love & Peace"

Syrian megastar, Assala Nasri is cooking something outstanding as usual. She is reportedly using the sign language in her latest music video "Love and Peace", which is scheduled to be released soon.

The music video features deaf and hard-of-hearing representer, Hagar Gamal, known as "Madonna", and sign interpreter, Bishoy Emad, and inpiduals of various nationalities.

The track is written and composed by Mohamed Rahim. Rahim took to social media to announce the completion of filming the song "Love and Peace", stressing that the production is different in all of its aspects.

The superstar also expressed in a statement her happiness for her cooperation in the song with the composer Mohamed Rahim and confirmed that the song made her dance and cry from joy, and will leave a mark in her artistic career.

Nasri is also reportedly working on a new song with the creator of her hit-song “Bent Akaber“.

She is collaborating with poet Mohamed Abou Nema for a new song after the great success they achieved in her hit-song “Bent Akaber”.

Abou Nema will present the Syrian megastar in a new and different style from her previous songs.

The Syrian megastar updated fans last March on the progress of her upcoming album in a live stream on Instagram, in an attempt to uplift their spirits during the COVID-19 self-quarantine.

She confirmed that she is preparing to release her new album in the coming period, noting that it will feature many distinctive, varied songs.

Syrian megastar’s last released album is “Fi Orbak”, which was released in August 2019.

It will be her first studio album to be released after announced earlier this year that she and her husband Palestinian-American film director, Tarek Al Eryan have split, after a marriage that lasted for over 10 years.

On January 6, the Syrian megastar confirmed that she and her husband have separated. Nasri posted a photo of herself with Al Eryan on her Instagram account confirming that “With the utmost regret and sorrow” she has separated from the father of her sons (Adam and Ali).

Sham al Zahabi, the daughter of Assala, was keen to support her mother in her ordeal and revealed in the comment the cause of the porce, which was due to cheating.

Nasri’s latest artistic work is “Jeetni Maksour”, and the song "Salam",  which was featured in the last episode of Egyptian actor’s Amir Karara TV series “El Ekhteyar” (The Choice). It was one of the most-watched soap opera this year, which premiered in Ramadan.

The series featured many celebrities making guest appearances including Ahmed El Sakka, Diab, Ahmed Khaled Saleh, Ahmed Salah Hosny, Mohamed Emam, Maged El Masry, Eyad Nassar, Asser Yassin, Mohamed Ragab, and Karim Mahomud Abdel Aziz.

It is worth mentioning that Assala Mostafa Hatem Nasri, most commonly known as Assala, is a Syrian singer and TV host.

She was born in Damascus to a middle-class couple, her father Moustafa Nasry, was a well-known Syrian composer and singer.

The megastar began her musical career by performing patriotic, religious, and children’s songs when she was four years old.

She sang the theme song “Qessas al-Sho’oub (Stories of People”) of the cartoon show “Hekaayat ‘aalamiyah” (Global tales).

In 1986, her father passed away in a fatal car accident after suffering from internal bleeding. Aged 17, she helped her mother in taking care of her siblings, Reem, Amaany, Ayman, and Ayham.

Assala made her musical debut in 1993 with “Law te’rafou” (If you know). The album had 4 songs in the oriental operatic TARAB style composed by great Egyptian composers. The album was an instant hit with heartbreaking songs like “Ya sabra yana” (How patient I am) and” Samehtak ketir (I forgave a lot).

She quickly cemented her presence in a growing industry brimming with new, young talents like Najwa Karam, Saber Rebai, Angham, and Abdelmajeed Abdullah.

Assala booked herself a place along with the Arab singing legends among great albums through two decades.

Among her most famous albums are “Eghdab” (Get angry), “Wala tessadda” (Do not believe), “Alby beyertahlak (My heart feels at home with you), “Ya mag-noun” (Oh madman), “Moshtaa’a” (I am missing you), ” Yameen Allah” (I swear), “Add al-horouf” (As much as letters), “Hayaaty” (My life), “Noss haala” (A half situation) and “Kanoun kaifek” (The law of your fancy).
