Egypt squash stars Mostafa Asal, and Ali Farag advanced to the final of the 2025 PSA World Squash Championships, currently being held in Chicago, USA, from May 9 to 18.
With this result, Egypt is guaranteed the men’s title.
Asal secured his spot in the final after a commanding 3-0 victory over New Zealand’s Paul Coll in the semi-final, with game scores of 11-5, 11-5, 11-4.
Farag advanced to the final after defeating defending champion Diego Elias of Peru in straight games: 11-5, 11-4, 11-5.
On the women’s side, Egypt is also assured of the title as Nour El Sherbini and Hania El Hammamy booked their seats in the final.
El Sherbiny defeated American Olivia Weaver in a five-game thriller (11-1, 7-11, 7-11, 11-8, 11-4).
El Hammamy earned her place in the final after beating fellow Egyptian and current world No. 1, Nouran Gohar, 3-1 (9-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-6).
