Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé will miss the upcoming Spanish Super Cup, Supercopa de España, in Saudi Arabia, according to reports from AS.
The club has decided that Mbappé will undergo conservative treatment to ensure a full recovery, without specifying a return date.
Real Madrid aims for him to regain full fitness before resuming competitive matches.
The forward recently suffered a knee injury, confirmed by an MRI scan that showed a sprain in his left knee.
French sports newspaper L'Équipe reported that the injury will keep him sidelined for at least three weeks.
In the Super Cup, Barcelona will face Athletic Bilbao in one semi-final, while Real Madrid take on Atlético Madrid in the other.
The winners of each match will meet in the final, which will be officiated by José Luis Munuera, who previously refereed the Copa del Rey final between Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Barcelona won last season’s Super Cup after defeating Real Madrid in the final.
