AS FAR have booked a high-stakes meeting with Mamelodi Sundowns in the final of the CAF Champions League for the 2025-2026 season, in a showdown set to decide Africa’s most prestigious club title.
AS FAR secured their place in the final despite a narrow 1-0 defeat to fellow Moroccan side RS Berkane in the second leg of the semifinals.
Their 2-0 victory in the first leg proved decisive, allowing them to advance on aggregate and book their spot in the final.
On the other side, Mamelodi Sundowns continued their strong continental run by eliminating Tunisian giants Espérance Sportive de Tunis in the semifinals.
The South African side claimed identical 1-0 victories in both legs, underlining their defensive strength and consistency throughout the competition.
The first leg of the final will be played on May 15, 2026, at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, the home ground of Sundowns.
The decisive second leg is scheduled for May 24, 2026, on AS FAR’s home soil in Morocco, where the continental champion will be crowned.
For AS FAR, this final carries historic weight. The Moroccan club is returning to the CAF Champions League final for the first time in 41 years, since their only title triumph in 1985.
They will be aiming to revive their golden continental legacy, while Sundowns are chasing another major African crown in a tightly contested showdown.
