Belarusian star Aryna Sabalenka has cemented her status as the queen of hard courts after successfully defending her US Open crown with a straight-sets victory over American Amanda Anisimova in the women’s singles final.
Sabalenka, the top seed, triumphed 6-3, 7-6 against the eighth seed to claim her fourth Grand Slam title and her second consecutive US Open trophy, becoming the first woman since Serena Williams (2012–2014) to win back-to-back championships in New York.
The final was a battle of power between two of the game’s hardest hitters, but while both players struggled with unforced errors, Sabalenka kept hers to 15 compared to Anisimova’s 29, proving the difference on court.
Overcome with emotion, Sabalenka dropped to her knees after sealing victory with an unreturnable serve, before leaping into the stands to celebrate with her coaching team. “I want to thank everyone who came here and traveled to support me,” she told the crowd. “I’ll reach many more finals, and no matter where you are in the world, I want you behind me on the court.”
With this win, Sabalenka not only extends her streak of reaching every hard-court Grand Slam final since 2022 but also underlines her place as the dominant force on the surface.
