Arsenal FC secured a dramatic 2–0 win over Everton FC at Emirates Stadium in round 30 of the Premier League.
The match remained evenly balanced for most of the game before Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres finally broke the deadlock in the 89th minute.
The goal came after a cross into the penalty area that Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford misjudged while coming off his line.
The ball reached Piero Hincapié, who set it up for Gyökeres to calmly finish into the empty net.
Deep into stoppage time in the 90+7 minute, Arsenal youngster Max Dowman sealed the victory.
Pickford had moved forward into Arsenal’s penalty area for an Everton corner, leaving the goal unguarded. Dowman intercepted the ball, sprinted past several players and scored into the empty net.
With the win, Arsenal strengthened their position at the top of the Premier League table with 70 points. Everton remain on 43 points in eighth place.
