Arsenal have reportedly decided to keep hold of Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny following his impressive performances in the Premier League.

The Egyptian star joined Arsenal from FC Basel in 2016, and spent 2019-20 on loan at Besiktas.

Since arriving in London, he represented the Gunners in 144 games across all competitions, winning two FA Community Shields and an FA Cup.

However, Elneny had a rough start to the season, having been denied playtime throughout the majority of the Premier League campaign. However, the Egyptian redeemed himself with a number of spectacular performances once he got the chance to play.

The 29-year-old orchestrated the midfield against Chelsea, Manchester United, West Ham, and Leeds United, and according to The Athletic, it was enough for Arsenal to offer him a new contract.
