Arsenal FC will look to overcome recent domestic setbacks when they host Sporting CP tonight at the Emirates Stadium in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter finals.

The London side enters the match holding a narrow 1-0 advantage from the first leg but remains cautious after a dip in domestic form.

Arsenal recently lost the League Cup final to Manchester City, were eliminated from the FA Cup, and suffered a league defeat to Bournemouth.

Despite the pressure, manager Mikel Arteta can rely on his team’s strong European performances this season.

Arsenal remain unbeaten in the Champions League campaign so far, recording 10 wins and one draw, including a perfect record at home.

The first leg victory away from home provides a psychological edge, allowing Arsenal to approach the match with tactical discipline and capitalize on key moments in front of their home supporters.

On the other hand, Sporting Lisbon arrives with determination to overturn the deficit. The Portuguese side has shown strong form in recent matches and hopes to reach the semifinals for the first time in its history.

Historically, Arsenal holds the upper hand in this fixture, having never lost to Sporting in European competition, with three wins and three draws.

They have also lost just once in their last 12 matches against Portuguese teams.

However, Sporting remains a dangerous opponent, entering the clash with a must win mindset and the ambition to produce a major upset on the European stage.
