Reports indicate that Arne Slot, manager of Liverpool, is under growing pressure and could face dismissal due to recent poor results and internal disagreements with the club’s sporting management.
According to Anfield Watch, concerns over Slot’s future stem not only from the team’s inconsistent performances but also from conflicts with Richard Hughes, Liverpool’s sporting director, regarding the club’s player development strategy.
Hughes reportedly urged Slot to give more opportunities to young talents, including Rio Ngomouha and several academy prospects, following the approach of former manager Jürgen Klopp, who was known for trusting and promoting emerging players.
However, Slot reportedly resisted this approach and chose to loan out Ngomouha during last summer’s transfer window, fueling tensions between the manager and the club’s hierarchy.
Despite these challenges, Liverpool currently occupies fourth place in the Premier League with 34 points, though still trailing league leaders Arsenal by 14 points.
