On Friday, Ariana Grande returned with her inquisitive and gleaming new single “Yes, And?” that serves as the first taste of her forthcoming seventh album.

The pop star released her most recent studio album "Positions" in 2020. The album's deluxe version came out in January 2021.

Inspired by late ’80s dance-pop production, the catchy track is made all the better by Grande’s unshakeable confidence and comfort in her skin.

Written and produced by the pop star alongside Max Martin and Ilya Salmanzadeh, and recorded in New York City, the thumping and rallying chorus is prime for a dancefloor — there are even elements that call back to Madonna’s “Vogue,” which could very well be a tease to the album’s overall sound.

In December, Grande updated fans on the process behind her seventh studio album, sharing a photo dump on Instagram that included a clip of her taking a snooze on a studio couch.

In the clip, she curled up as a collaborator asked her about her mindset during "almost the last day of this album."

As she explained at the time, she was "so tired but so happy and grateful."

In the post, Grande tagged her reported new manager Brandon Creed, and a few music collaborators, including producer Ilya Salmanzadeh, who previously worked with her on tracks such as "No Tears Left to Cry," "Problem" and "Side to Side."

"See you next year ♡," Grande captioned.
