On the heels of releasing the eagerly anticipated Eternal Sunshine album, Ariana Grande also dropped Friday the visual for the collection’s new single, “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)”, featuring actor Evan Peters.

The singer teased the clip from the Christian Breslauer-directed visual last week with a photo from the waiting room in which she signs a consent form stating, “You have given extensive thought behind your decision and give ‘Brighter Days Inc.’ the exclusive permission to remove this person completely from your memory,” as her pen hovers over the box marked “No,” before the 30-year-old pop star opts for “Yes” at the last second and signing her name as “Peaches.”

The midtempo track is the second single from Eternal Sunshine, following the January hit single “Yes, And?”.

Grande has previously said that she wouldn’t be issuing any more songs ahead of her seventh studio album’s release. Grande will be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live alongside Dune 2’s Josh Brolin this weekend.

"Eternal Sunshine" is the Wicked star's seventh studio album and first since 2020’s "Positions". It consists of 13 songs and follows her yearslong break from music, having spent the time since "Positions" focusing on her R.E.M. Beauty business and her role in the upcoming live-action adaptations of the Broadway musical Wicked. She stars as Glinda the Good Witch alongside Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba.

In the past three years, the pop star's endeavors have only spanned guesting on other artists’ songs such as “Die for You” with The Weeknd and “Met Him Last Night” with Demi Lovato, and releasing a 10th-anniversary edition of her debut albums, "Yours Truly".

Released on all digital streaming platforms on Friday, "Eternal Sunshine" is Grande’s incredibly vulnerable reflection on the personal and artistic growth she experienced following her divorce from Dalton Gomez, a transformative "Saturn Return", and recalibrating her relationship with music after being busy for some time to film her upcoming Wicked movies.

Grande kicked off the year 2024 with the release of “Yes, And?”— the first single from the LP — and later received a remix featuring fellow chart-conquering diva Mariah Carey.
