The Argentine national team was forced to hold its training session indoors at Inter Miami CF in the United States after Fort Lauderdale was hit by severe thunderstorms, according to an announcement by the Argentine Football Association on its official website.
The reigning World Cup champions are preparing to face Egypt next Tuesday in the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Due to the change in training schedule, the coaching staff reorganized the training program. Players who did not participate in the Round of 32 match against Cape Verde underwent intensive physical training, while the rest of the squad focused on the usual post-match recovery exercises.
Argentina qualified for this round after a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Cape Verde in extra time, in a Round of 32 match that saw a strong performance from the first-ever World Cup-winning team.
The winner of the Argentina-Egypt match is expected to face the winner of the Switzerland-Colombia match in the quarterfinals.
