The Arab Parliament condemned the Turkish attack on Duhok city in northern Iraq, leaving eight dead and dozens injured.
The Arab Parliament confirmed on Thursday that the attack represents a violation of all international conventions and norms, as well as a violation of Iraq's sovereignty and the principles and rules of good neighborliness.
The parliament stressed its solidarity and full support to Iraq in all the measures it takes to protect its citizens and lands and to defend its sovereignty, calling on Turkey to “stop these hostile acts, respect Iraq’s sovereignty over its entire territory, and abide by the principle of good neighborliness."
The Arab Parliament expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the innocent victims and wishes a speedy recovery to all the injured.
On Wednesday, a Turkish bombing targeted Iraq’s northern province of Dohuk. The attack resulted in the death of 8 people and the injury of 23 others.
Iraq decided to file a complaint to the UN Security Council against Turkey. Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi directed the preparation of a full file of the ongoing Turkish violations and submitted it to the Security Council.
