The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit welcomed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's hosting of Russian-American talks in Riyadh on 18 February.
According to a statement by Gamal Roshdy, the official spokesperson for the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Aboul Gheit, said that the Kingdom's hosting of these discussions represents a significant Arab contribution to global peace efforts and the pursuit of a resolution to the Russian-Ukrainian war, whose far-reaching repercussions continue to impact international stability and prosperity.
It's worth mentioning that ties between Russia and the U.S. have fallen to their lowest level in decades since Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014 and only worsened after Moscow’s full-scale invasion.
