Arab League Receives Director-General of Tunisian Agency for Technical Cooperation

Ambassador Mohannad Saleh Lajouzi, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and Director-General of the Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries, met with Dr. Mohamed Blidi, Director-General of the Tunisian Agency for Technical Cooperation and a member of the Fund's Board of Directors, in Cairo on 10 September.

The meeting offered an important opportunity to exchange views on strengthening technical cooperation between the two entities, particularly in the areas of capacity-building and human resource development programmes in African countries, thereby contributing to sustainable development efforts and addressing the needs of priority sectors on the continent.

Ambassador Lajouzi welcomed the Director-General of the Tunisian Agency, commending its active role as a leading regional institution in technical capacity development and knowledge exchange. He expressed his deep appreciation for the visit, which reflects the strong ties between the two organisations, and reaffirmed the Fund's readiness to cooperate in organising joint activities and programmes that serve the shared interests of African countries, within the limits of available resources.

For his part, Dr. Blidi outlined the main programmes and projects implemented by the Tunisian Agency in several African countries, underscoring the Agency's commitment to expanding cooperation with the Fund and thereby opening new horizons for African expertise and skills to benefit from training and capacity-building opportunities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to maintain coordination and establish practical mechanisms to activate cooperation, ensuring optimal results and providing real added value to African countries, in line with the objectives of both the Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries and the Tunisian Agency for Technical Cooperation.
