Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit said that the Libyan political track will not be stable and entrenched except with the exit of all foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya, and an end to the threat of militias and armed groups.

He stressed the importance of the progress that Libya has witnessed towards settling its crisis with the selection of the leadership of the new executive authority.

In his speech before the (155) regular session of the Arab League at the level of foreign ministers, he called all Libyans to seize the opportunity and show unity in order to complete the preparations for the preliminary phase, in preparation for holding elections next December.

The Arab foreign ministers elected incumbent Ahmed Aboul Gheit for a second term as Arab League secretary-general.

The decision came during a session held at the headquarter of the Arab League this morning, hours before launching the official meetings of the Arab League 155th edition.

In the same context, Aboul Gheit held a meeting with Maryam Al Sadiq on Wednesday for discussing several common-interest issues.

The AL Cheif asserted the league’s commitment to preserving Egypt and Sudan’s rights and shares in Nile waters, in addition, he showed the league’s support to Sudan in calling for the sovereignty and security of its lands through legalized channels.
