Officials from the Arab League and Russia’s "Russia-Islamic World" Strategic Vision Group met Thursday to strengthen cultural cooperation and discuss establishing an Arab cultural center in Russia.
Marat Gatin, assistant to the President of Tatarstan and deputy head of the group, met with Arab League officials to align on the 2024-2026 Arab-Russian Cooperation Forum action plan. Counselor Yousef Bader Mashari, Director of Culture and Dialogue of Civilizations, emphasized that dialogue is the most effective tool for building mutual respect.
The talks highlighted the upcoming "Unified Arab Strategy for the Alliance of Civilizations 2026-2031" and the "Arab Declaration for Tolerance and Peace," both slated for ministerial adoption in March 2026. Gatin stressed the importance of interfaith activities and the role of youth in fostering peaceful coexistence. Both sides agreed to launch joint initiatives to equip young leaders with skills in cultural and religious dialogue.
