The German Cross Culture Program (CCP) announced fellowships for Egyptians for cultural exchange with other countries, where 80 committed professionals and volunteers from more than 35 countries are offered each year.

The fellowship duration is usually from two to three months of practical training in host organizations in Germany or In CCP partner countries, where participants deepen their experience and acquire multicultural skills.

On its part, the host organizations benefit from regional experience, knowledge and networks of CCP colleagues.

The participants shall bring their experiences abroad to their daily working lives when they return to their original organizations.

 

Program’a Details

The German Cross Culture Program is basically for Muslim countries to spend 8 or 12 weeks in Germany. All Costs will be funded in a Cross-Cultural student exchange program under the following conditions:

Summer semester: May to August 2020

Fall semester: September to December 2020

The deadline for application is November 15, 2019.

 

Professional fellowships are offered in the following fields:

 

Politics and society

Human Rights and Peace building

Sustainable development

Media and Culture

Civic Education and Citizenship

Digital Civil Society

Application Requirements:

Essential requirements:

 

Applicants must be between 23 and 45 years of age at the time of application

Good at speaking and writing English skills

At least two years of proven professional experience or volunteer work in a civil society organization in the country of origin.

The applicant should be in good health for a long stay abroad.

Preferences:

The applicant has been socially engaging in Egypt for a long term.

The applicant can demonstrate full-time experience in his / her field of work.

Cooperation with an organization in the target country under implementation or planned.

The applicant has other language skills, especially German

Fellowship Advantages:

This program provides financial support for fellowship recipients.

IFA covers the following costs:

• Monthly allowance of 550 euros

• Tour by air flight

• Residence

Monthly ticket for public transport

Refund of applicable visa fees

• Health insurance

Fellowship responsibilities:

Communicate and consult with the program team as well as the concerned host organization

Submit a final report

Participation in associated events (workshops, training courses, etc.)

Insurance of absence from the employer

Preparing for a short stay visa (Schengen visa)

Assess the risks and potential impacts on their work and the work of others in the country of residence (due to participation in the program)

Selection Procedures:

The appropriate candidates will be selected by IFA in consultation with the German Foreign Mission in Cairo.

The selected candidates will be invited for a personal interview at the German Foreign Mission or via Skype in December 2019 / January 2020.

The final selection of CrossCulture fellows will be completed in cooperation with the Federal Foreign Office and the results will be published until February 2020, as there is no recourse to legal proceedings.
