Apple joins a number of technology companies in donating masks, especially after the death toll in the United States has been exacerbated by the pandemic.

Other companies such as Ford Motor have transformed production facilities to create additional face masks.

Meantime, other fashion and perfumes industries in Italy, France and elsewhere have shifted production to medical masks and sanitizers to reduce the market shortage of protective gear.
