The Associated Press (AP), a US news agency, said that Egypt is still intensifying efforts to a ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian resistant groups in the Gaza Strip after four days of fierce confrontations.
Cairo sent two security delegations to both Gaza and Tel Aviv as Egypt hopes to beat an accord to a ceasefire as the Israelis and Palestinian respect the Egyptian leadership.
Haaretz, an Israeli daily newspaper quoted Arabic reports said that an Egyptian delegation came to the Gaza Strip yesterday, Wednesday to discuss a ceasefire.
According to the Israeli newspaper, another Egyptian security delegation came to Israel simultaneously to put Israel under pressure to stop escalating with the resistant groups at once.
Palestinian sources told Haaretz that talks of the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel went on until Tuesday afternoon.
But these talks stopped after Israel murdered three of the Quds Brigades, the military arm of Islamic Jihad , one of the main resistant groups in the Gaza Strip.
On the other hand, US President Joe Biden announced appointing a special envoy to try to intervene and stop the escalation, Hadi Ammar, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Israeli and Palestinian Affairs.
Also, the High Representative for Foreign Policy in the European Union, Joseph Borrell, said during a phone call with the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, that the war escalation between Israel and Gaza and the events in Jerusalem, cause concern to the countries of the Union.
A new session held by the five permanent and temporary members of the United Nations (UN) Security Council failed again to adopt a resolution regarding the Israeli aggression on civilians in the Gaza Strip and Al-Quds (known in Israeli sources as Jerusalem).
But the UN officials warn that the current confrontations between the Palestinians and Israeli may drift into a whole war in the Middle East if escalation doesn't stop at once.
