Arab Parliament condemned Israeli attempts to classify United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) as a terrorist organization, criminalize its activities, and lift immunity from its employees, considering it part of its criminal attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause and eliminate the right of return for Palestinian refugees.
The Arab Parliament affirmed the important and significant role of UNRWA, which provides assistance and relief to around 6.4 million Palestinian refugees, including one million refugees in the Gaza Strip who are subjected to unprecedented aggression, genocide, and starvation by the occupying power.
The Arab Parliament called on the international community, international organizations, and human rights organizations to assume their responsibilities towards halting these repeated crimes and violations.
It stressed the necessity of providing international protection for the Palestinian people and the immediate and effective action to compel the occupation to cease immediately and permanently these ongoing and continuous violations of international law and humanitarian law.
Moreover, it demanded securing protection for relief organizations and their staff, especially UNRWA, which plays a significant humanitarian role in providing assistance and services to Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian territories, including the Gaza Strip.
