Antiquities Min. to Hold Exhibition Egyptian Replicas

The Italian city of Venice is organizing an exhibition of Egyptian archeological replicas, starting from the half of February 2020.

Such replicas were produced by the Archaeological Models Production Unit, at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

Executive Director of the Archaeological Models Production Unit Amr al-Taibi said: “This exhibition aims to provide an opportunity for the largest number of the Italian public, especially children, to visit the exhibition.”

“The exhibition will give the Italian people the chance to get acquainted with some of the most important treasures of ancient Egyptian antiquities and their monuments and tourist attractions,” he added.

Al-Taibi stressed: “This exhibition shows the extent of the interest of Italian citizens in learning about the features of ancient Egyptian antiquities and civilization, which contributes to the promotion and marketing of visiting Egypt and stimulating the movement of cultural tourism.”

The exhibition includes 70 archeological models of Egyptian antiquities that were produced to participate in the exhibition. Among them are the statue of the Seated Scribe and the masks of both Yuya and Tuya, the bust of Queen Nefertiti, and the head of King Akhenaten.

Also, there will be a number of distinguished models from the collection of King Tutankhamen Such as the war wheel and royal dagger of Tutankhamun, a set of grafted armor and a distinctive collection of ornaments, jewelry, and some hunting gear.

This exhibition is the second of its kind in Italy, where the first one was held in the Italian city of Viterbo in May 2018 which has been visited by more than 100000 people.
