MOSUL, JUNE 16 (SEE) Special Envoy to UNHCR and Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie made a visit on Saturday to the Iraqi city of Mosul almost a year after the city's liberation.

Jolie said, she admits the sacrifices paid in the liberation of the city, and she has faith in the commitment and international responsibility towards rebuilding and stabilizing the city, hoping people would not turn their backs on Iraqi families living there.

Jolie added, "I have no words for the strength it must take to rebuild after loss like this. But that is what the people of this city are doing. They are grief-stricken and traumatized, but they are also hopeful. They are clearing their homes with their own hands, and volunteering and helping each other. But they need our assistance."

This Visit marks her fifth to Iraq, and the 61st mission with the UN Refugee Agency.
