Hollywood star Angelina Jolie hailed contemporary artworks at the Giza Plateau on Friday as part of the international exhibition of contemporary art.
The exhibition was opened Thursday evening, in the vicinity of the Giza pyramids, under the title “Forever is Now”.
“Love these that my friend @jr just sent from Egypt,” Jolie wrote in an Instagram post, mentioning the French artist JR who is one of the most prominent and famous contemporary artists participating in the exhibition.
Jolie posted photos of the artworks that closely resemble one of the images in her famous movie “Tomb Raider”. The post received massive interaction from her 10.7 million followers, hitting around 400k likes in three hours.
The actress joined Instagram in August and published her first post, putting a spotlight on what’s happening in Afghanistan.
“Right now, the people of Afghanistan are losing their ability to communicate on social media and to express themselves freely,” she wrote in the post. “So I’ve come on Instagram to share their stories and the voices of those across the globe who are fighting for their basic human rights.”
