On Tuesday, tennis icon Andy Murray announced that he will retire from tennis after the Paris 2024 Olympics.
He posted on X: “Arrived in Paris for my last ever tennis tournament,” adding: “Competing for (Britain) have been by far the most memorable weeks of my career and I’m extremely proud to get do it one final time!”
Murray is expected to compete in the singles and the men’s doubles.
In 2012, he won gold at London 2012.
Two weeks ago, Murray made his final appearance at Wimbledon alongside his brother Jamie in the men’s doubles.
Due to injury, he couldn't compete in the singles competition. He also couldn't participate in the mixed doubles due to the withdrawal of his partner Emma Raducanu.
